OFSTED and DfE

“Pupils get off to a great start to life in school. Staff sow the seeds here for the behaviour and learning traits that thread through school life. Staff nurture and challenge in equal measure.
As a result, pupils become independent and inquisitive learners.”

OFSTED visited Staunton Primary school in October 2022. Their report can be viewed by clicking on the link.

Parent View

Parent View gives you the chance to tell us what you think about your child’s school. Parent View asks for your opinion on 12 aspects of your child’s school, from the quality of teaching, to dealing with bullying and poor behaviour. If your child is at a boarding or a residential special school, it also asks for your opinion on five aspects of your child’s boarding or welfare. We will use the information you provide when making decisions about which schools to inspect, and when.

When inspecting education in independent schools, we recommend when inspection should take place but inspect at the request of the DfE. By sharing your views, you’ll be helping your child’s school to improve. You will also be able to see what other parents have said about your child’s school. Or, if you want to, view the results for any school in England.

DfE Performance

View the DfE performance website, or go directly to the latest Staunton Primary School DfE achievement & attainment page. This includes the latest Key Stage 2 attainment & progress measures.

New legislation around equalities, transparency and accountability now requires all schools to publish a direct link from their school websites to the Schools Financial Benchmarking dedicated to their school using the unique reference number allocated by the Department for Education. Our page can be accessed from this link.

Pupil Premium

As a school we receive funding which has been introduced by the Government to enable us to develop strategies, which can raise the attainment of pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds. This funding is called Pupil Premium.

Schools are free to spend the Pupil Premium Grant as they feel is appropriate. Schools must report and publicise annually how the money has been spent and what the impact has been made on the achievements of the pupils.

Please see our Pupil premium strategy statement below for more information.

PE and Sports Premium

The Sports Premium is funded jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and provides money directly to primary school headteachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.

The sport funding can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

Purpose of funding

Schools will have to spend the sport funding on improving their provision of PE and sport but will have the freedom to choose how they do this. Information on how we as a school have chosen to use this money can be found below in The Primary PE and Sport Premium document.

Financial Benchmarking

See how you can identify schools similar to yours and make comparisons using the financial benchmarking tool from the DfE. Understand the benefits and limitations of benchmarking, and see examples of how other schools use it.

Please note, the Government did not publish KS2 school level data for the 2021 to 2022 academic year. This is because statutory assessments returned for the first time since 2019, without adaptations, after disruption caused by the pandemic.
